ESOL Entry Level (Part Time)

ESOL at John Ruskin College offers you a dynamic and professional approach to learning; speaking and listening, reading and writing. Our highly qualified teachers will enable you to achieve English and Mathematics qualifications at the appropriate level for you which will provide you with the skills you need to progress to our vocational courses in the future. Your course will include educational and cultural visits, extra-curricular activities, an engaging curriculum focused on gaining the skills needed to participate in everyday life in the UK. You will learn about the world of work and participate in work experience.

ESOL with Hair & Beauty (Part Time)

ESOL Students will work towards Ascentis Award in Speaking & listening which develops verbal communication skills to ensure that students can understand information given in discussions as well as provide information in English and engage in conversation on a range of everyday topics. Skills include correct use of grammar for spoken language, giving structured accounts of anecdotes, instructions or advice and to ask for clarification if required. This will be tailored to the Hair, Barbering & Beauty sector vocabulary Hair, Barbering and Beauty Learn the basic underpinning skills of the Hair, Barbering and Beauty Sector. Students can specialise in either basic Hairdressing, Barbering or Beauty Therapy techniques. The course provides students with an introduction to careers within the sector.
