ELSAs are Emotional Literacy Support Assistants. They are specialist learning support assistants trained and regularly supervised by Educational Psychologists.
An ELSA will help you develop your emotional resilience and cope with life's challenges. They will help you find solutions to any problems you may have.
Students in need of support will be offered 6-12 targeted sessions in a group or individually of approximately 45 minutes each.
ELSAs can support with a range of issues including:
- loss
- self esteem
- social skills
- friendship concerns
- relationships
- managing emotions
- anxiety
- bullying
- conflict
- emotional regulation
- personal growth mindset
We are planning to implement this from September but will be developing the provision over the Summer term, ELSA referrals need to be made through the ALS team.
