Childcare and Early Years Educator Level 3 - Hannah

After studying her Health & Social Care Level 2 qualification with John Ruskin College, Hannah decided to continue with us on a Level 3 Childcare course.. Hannah decided that she would like to work in a primary school, so the course was great for her career ambitions.

Hannah chose to continue studying with John Ruskin College upon seeing the facilities for her course.

“I loved how the classroom was set up with a nursery at the back of the room as I enjoy hands-on learning.”

The tutors have been really supportive and Hannah mentioned how her tutor supplies her with all the resources needed to complete her coursework and she feels that she can always speak to her tutor for any support.

Hannah has completed three different placements, working with children of different age groups. Her favourite placement was with Reception children. She felt that she gained so many new skills and the work experience was beneficial as Hannah got to understand the primary school environment even more.

As well as her studies, Hannah has also enjoyed being a part of the badminton club and taking part in enrichment activities, including talks from local nursery teams about their role and how they work.

Hannah is now going on to study Primary Education QTS at St Mary’s University to further her skills and get one step closer to becoming a teacher. Reflecting on her time at JRC, Hannah remarked that: “being at JRC feels like being at home, everyone is welcoming and you feel safe and comfortable in your surroundings. It is a College full of opportunities to participate in enrichment, so you can always try something new!”
