Body & Spa Level 3 - Nadia

JRC was recommended to Nadia as a supportive College to continue her studies. Before joining, she had looked around at an Open Event and when she saw the salon, it was “the most professional environment I had seen and it made me want to study at John Ruskin College.”

She chose the Level 3 Body & Spa course as she had “always been intrigued by the Beauty industry and learning new techniques” but didn’t know how many treatments were available before she started the course.

Nadia admitted that when she first started the course it was very different to what she was used to, having previously studied Carpentry and Beauty Therapy. As the weeks went by, she enjoyed it more and more, commenting that her favourite aspect was “learning different treatments and being able to master them as well as performing them on clients.”

Thinking about events that have helped her studies, Nadia mentioned the End of Year Showcase where she used a model to create a look for the chosen theme. She loved creating a whole look, start to finish, make-up, hair and outfit before presenting it to everyone, as well as seeing everyone else’s work too.

To enhance her studies, Nadia plans to take a course in fashion design in the future but for now she wants to work for herself, “providing all different types of treatments and eventually open my own salon and create different businesses in the beauty industry.”
