Getting festive at JRC’s Winter Fair
Date: 10 December 2024
Students and staff at John Ruskin College had a fun-filled day yesterday at the College’s Winter Fair, organised by our Enrichment team.
The fair included a host of activities to enjoy such as games, badge making, balloon making and face painting, a flowers table and a charity bake sake.
The Christmas face painting was hosted by our Hair and Beauty Level 2 and 3 students, whilst the homemade postcards, balloon and badge making were looked after by our Creative Art students.
Students and staff were also able to get involved in games which included a College wide scavenger hunt to win a free College t-shirt, guess the number of sweets in a jar and find the JRC logo within a Where’s Wally mini-game.
Comments from students at the fair included:
“I’ve been here for about an hour trying everything! I’ve had a snowflake painted onto my face and I’ve made my own badge too.”
“It took me about 10 minutes to find both logos in the Where’s Wally mini game, but it was worth it for the free pack of sweets!”
Kiya, Beauty Therapy Level 2 student added: “I won! I can’t believe I won the guess the number of sweets in a jar game. I can’t wait to tuck into them tonight.”
Jordan Johnson, Student Engagement Coordinator reflected on the overall event: “I’m delighted to see so many students enjoying themselves at the Winter Fair, it’s the first time we’ve put it on and it’s definitely going to be the new tradition. Thank you to the staff and students who put together any stalls, you truly helped bring the festive fun!”
