Successful AHT Finals in Blackpool
Date: 16 May 2024
On Sunday 12 and Monday 13 May, our student finalists from Orbital South Colleges, competed in the AHT (Association of Hairdressers and Therapists) final at the Norbreck Castle Hotel and Spa in Blackpool.
Our students were from both our Colleges and included from JRC - Tai, Racheal, Ebony and Vannessa and from ESC - Ellie, Ava, Oaklan, Abbie, Izobel, Ispobel, Amy and Tori. They competed against other Colleges from across the country including the north and south of England and Scotland.
The day was filled with creative and innovative make-up looks and nail design, as well as some fantastic barbering and hairdressing.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony to celebrate all the students hard work and announce the winners for each heat.
Staff at the event said, “We are so proud of all our students for performing fantastically well at the awards. We are so lucky to have such hard-working students who continue to amaze us with their talents. This event has been great for them to get recognition of their hard work.”
A big congratulations to all the students who took part across the day, each student received a trophy and certificate to commemorate their success.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have gained confidence in their abilities. All our finalists were professional and demonstrated excellent skills across the day, with 3 students taking the podium from ESC and JRC:
- 1st place in gender transformation - Tai from JRC.
- 3rd place in gender transformation - Oaklan from ESC
- 2nd place in bridal - Ava from ESC
