Salon Systems come to JRC

Our Beauty Therapy Level 2 and Body & Spa Therapy Level 3 students were very excited to welcome Salon Systems to John Ruskin College. Janet Palmer, a Nail Technology tutor from Salon Systems spent the day assisting and training the students to help them build confidence and develop their skillset in Acrylic Nail Overlay and the Application of tips.

Kayliah, a Body & Spa Therapy Level 3 student commented: “The acrylic course was very informative and exciting, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun during the day.”

The acrylic nail course is an extension to their manicure unit and was designed to help students build their confidence whilst exploring the fundamentals of French Manicures and Marble Nail Designs. Throughout the day, students were able to have 1-2-1 sessions with Janet to ask any general questions about the nail industry and were shown professional techniques to help enhance their skills.

Natalie Watkins-Khan, Beauty Therapy and Body & Spa Therapy tutor, commented “It was really nice to see our students engage with Janet, ask questions and learn more about the professional acrylic nail techniques. These are skills that can be really useful when working in the nail industry.”

Students were able to practice these newly developed skills on both hand mannequins and real life models and were delighted to receive certificates at the end of the training.
