National Apprenticeship Week - Day 1
Date: 08 February 2021
Welcome to National Apprenticeship Week 2021! Here at JRC we’re going to be celebrating everything to do with Apprenticeships, in Croydon and beyond. We’re going to be hearing from some of our own Apprentices as well as some of our virtual visitors throughout the week.
We started today with a virtual talk from David White, Apprenticeship Development Lead at Gatwick Airport. He explained the different rotations offered as part of their 4-year Apprenticeship programme, including Airfield Engineering, Electronic and Heating & Ventilation! Our students were excited to hear how David started as an Apprentice himself, and so did the CEO, and are inspired to strive for career success.
Each day, we’re posing a different question to our Apprentices, so you can hear first-hand about the benefits of this pathway.
Q: Why did you choose an Apprenticeship?
“I have hands on experience and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to construction and I wanted to turn that into recognised qualifications” Lloyd, Surveying Technician Apprentice
“I enjoy the balance I get from learning and earning” Michalina, Hairdressing Apprentice
“I can get the best experience possible while gaining a qualification from it!” Bradley, Business Admin Apprentice
If you want to find out more about Apprenticeship, head to our dedicated section of the JRC website here. Make sure you’re following us on social media to follow along with all the NAW 2021 activity – we’re going to be having quizzes, polls and more!
