JRC Plumbing Students get a hands-on live demo from DiscreteHeat
Date: 27 November 2024
This week, students studying our Plumbing courses were visited by DiscreteHeat to provide them with a hands-on live demonstration of their game-changing product, Thermaskirt.
Thermaskirt is DiscreteHeat’s innovative product with a very interesting concept of a non-radiator home. Thermaskirt is a skirting board that doubles as a heating system, a smarter alternative to panel radiators, storage heaters and underfloor heating.
Paul Richards, Plumbing Lecturer commented: “I’ve been lucky to recently install one myself, so I was so excited for DiscreteHeat to come visit us and put on a live demonstration for our students. It’s a great way for students to engage with current and new technologies within the industry and to meet employers.”
Students got a firsthand look at how Thermaskirt works thanks to Carl Barrington from DiscreteHeat. He spent time showing off how the system is installed and sharing tips from his own experience. Students enjoyed learning about this innovative product and how it could completely change the way audiences think about heating.
After the demonstration, Carl donated spare parts and tools so in the future students can practice installing and dismantling the system. The Plumbing Department would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at DiscreteHeat for their time and generosity.
