JRC Celebrates Colleges Week
Date: 20 October 2020
Colleges Week 2020
We're so excited to be celebrating Colleges Week, with the Association Colleges, and showcase everything that has taken place at JRC over this past academic year!
Each day, we'll be highlighting how JRC is helping to support different members of the community, and we'd love to hear from you! Whether you're a JRC student, ex-student, staff, or just a member of the local community, share how JRC has supported and helped you - make sure you tag us online and use #CollegesWeek and #LoveOurColleges.
Monday
JRC is at the centre of…the economic rebuild
This year we launched our brand new Construction & Engineering courses, offering new opportunities to the Croydon community!
For 20/21 we welcomed in our new cohort of Technology students, including Engineering Levels 2-3 and new Construction and Plumbing courses, from Level 1-3. From 21/22, we’ll be broadening our offer to include Brickwork, Carpentry, and Painting & Decorating.
With these new courses, JRC students will be helping to rebuild the future by developing their practical skills and participating in live real-world projects!
And that’s not all… we’ve just launched NEW Apprenticeships in Construction Level 3! This is a great way to learn on the job, and contribute to the future of the industry!

JRC is at the centre of…growing and supporting individual sectors
We’re proud to have a student community that is diverse, passionate and committed to making a difference in their industries! We work in a range of sectors, providing industry-led education, meaning our students are ready to head straight into careers and make a change.
This year, we welcome in students for brand new courses at JRC! For the first time, we’ve got students learning about Aviation, Construction, Engineering and Public Services, and we can’t wait to discover their #JRCStories

JRC is at the centre of... innovation and designing the future
Undoubtedly, this year has shown how communities can flourish online. The future is digital and we've been supporting our students by sourcing new innovative ways of teaching and maintaining our JRC community.
We've hosted our first successful Job Fair, where students have been able to engage and interact with companies online, and broaden their aspirations. Our second Virtual Open Event also takes place this week, following a great online event in June - we're so excited to be able to open up the virtual doors of JRC, so you can explore our College from the comfort of your own home! There will be online presentations, bookable 1:1 chats and virtual tours, so pre-register now to be the first to receive updates.
