Building student career pathways at JRC

Date: 02 May 2024

On 1 May, at John Ruskin College, the Careers team hosted another successful Careers Fair.

A wide range employers and University representatives joined us at the event, to take students through career and progression opportunities including apprenticeships and higher education, including: Orbital South Colleges, Metropolitan Police, Munchkin Sport, Royal Albert Hall, HSBC, Palace for Life, UAL and LSBU.

This provided a fantastic experience for all John Ruskin students to learn more about where their current course will take them.

Attendees were also encouraged to bring along their CVs for advice and feedback from our Careers team.

Guy Pengelly spokesperson from Royal Albert Hall, speaking about the apprenticeship scheme, “You get to work in one of the most prestigious places in the world and get to see some iconic events.”

Tilly and Charlotte from Munchkin Sports said, “There’s a lot of space to grow and our company is great for development and having fun while you work.”

Nicky spokesperson from HSBC said, “The students were all interested and engaging. This is the most engaged group of students I have come across at a career fair.”

If you missed out on the event at JRC, not to worry, we will be hosting another Careers Fair at East Surrey College on the 9 May 2024 from 2pm to 5pm. We can’t wait to see you at the next event!

Address: John Ruskin College, Selsdon Park Road, South Croydon, CR2 8JJ
