Building on our Construction Courses!
Date: 06 January 2021
Construction courses at John Ruskin College are already underway with our first batch of keen students fully embedded in the courses they started in September 2020.
Our Painting & Decorating, Plumbing and Carpentry students are working hard and developing their skills in our brand new workshops equipped with industry standard tools and equipment.
Our brand new Construction Workshops
In 2021, we look forward to the addition of the new Construction Skills Centre! The Construction Skills Centre is a purpose built building which will feature high spec facilities for construction courses. This new addition will complement our existing workshops and support our students whilst they develop their specialist trades.
Construction Skills Centre in development – New for 2021!
Kevin Standish, Principal at John Ruskin College commented:
“We start the New Year with more exciting developments including a new Plumbing Level 1 Part-time course for adults to further strengthen the course offer in the local area.
The brand new workshops we have already put in place and the addition of the Construction Skills Centre is a great step forward in helping to upskill and train the future workforce of the Construction industry”.
John Ruskin College employs supportive and industry experienced staff and as part of the Orbital South Colleges Group (OSC) has links with many industry leaders such as Osborne, Buxton and Kier.
OSC have recently been awarded the Mayor’s Construction Academy (MCA) Quality Mark. This Mark identifies and recognises high-quality construction skills training providers around London, and sets a high bar for construction skills training provision.
We are encouraging school leavers to secure their place and get their College applications in now as spaces on these fantastic construction courses are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
