Art & Design Students visit UCA
Date: 28 November 2022
Our Art & Design Level 3 Year 1 and Year 2 students recently attended an Open Day Event at the UCA (University of Creative Arts) Farnham campus.
The students registered their attendance beforehand on the UCA website and then selected various Creative Practice talks and demonstrations that they could attend on the day, including photography, film, animation, fees and finance etc.
On the day, UCA Student Ambassadors acted as ‘tour guides’ and took the students around their campus, showing the variety of creative facilities offered such as multiple film studios, 2D/3D animation suites, a glass-blowing facility, jewellery-making workshops as well as students’ on-site accommodation There were also opportunities to chat with UCA lecturers face to face and find out more about the variety of courses on offer.
UCA provided Pizza, waffles, and complimentary drinks to make the day even more welcoming.
Ana Brito Year 2 student, commented:
“The information on the photography talk was very informative and made me consider finding a degree that has photography as part of the course, it was a great day and helped me to narrow down my options in Higher Education!”
This visit can be used as evidence towards the 'Progression' B1 unit of their Art & Design course as well as providing an insight into the Higher Education creative opportunities that are out there for JRC students.
Art & Design tutor, Tracy Carrington, commented:
“The Art and Design students enjoyed the Open Day and were impressed with the facilities and equipment on the campus. A big thank you to Savannah Moray from UCA for the effort and time spent planning to get us there!'
