A letter to parents

Thank you to all staff and students who have supported the Covid-19 safety measures that we have in place at the College, in particular the ongoing wearing of masks in communal areas and the regular use of the hand sanitisers throughout the College estate.   

We would encourage everyone to remain vigilant, and to follow Government guidelines and to ensure that they do not enter College premises if they show any Covid specific symptoms, and to keep their tutor/manager informed immediately of any changes to their personal circumstances.

We are now starting to receive enquiries as to how the Covid situation may affect the application process for Year 11 students looking to start studying with us in September 2021, so I thought it might be helpful to confirm a few details.

Our Client Services team are processing the many applications that we have received to date, and will shortly be inviting students to attend 1:1 interviews at the College, starting at the end of November.  If the local situation changes resulting in us not being able to invite you to attend the College in person then arrangements are in place for us to switch to online interviews, and retain the same appointment time.

We would like to reassure all students, parents and guardians that we collaborate with Public Health England and the Department of Education to allow us to be able to respond to any changes to the local situation; and the safety of all our students, staff and visitors is at the centre of all that we do.

The safety and wellbeing of our students is our priority. 

Public Health England have produced a letter for parents which you may find useful when trying to decide when your child requires a coronavirus test and what the symptoms of coronavirus are; as it may be harder to tell the difference between a cold or something more serious.
